About Tech Talk
The Durham County Library Tech Talk Blog is maintained by the staff of the Durham County Library in Durham, North Carolina. Our goal in setting up this blog is to pass on some of our technical knowledge to you. Most of our posts will be related to issues we’ve helped our patrons with. We will make every attempt to keep the tech and library jargon to a minimum.
Please feel free to comment, suggest or send us an email at librarywebmaster@durhamcountync.gov. We would love to hear from you and help you with any tech issues you might have.
Will DCL offer ebooks at some point? I’m an avid reader considering the Kindle or eReader…it would be great if I could download books from the library.
Got your feeds in my reader – thanks for keeping technophiles in the loop!
Hi Rachel,
Thanks for the comment.
We are currently subscribed to NetLibrary from NCLive. You can reach NCLive from our Research Page (http://durhamcountylibrary.org/research.php) and by calling 560.0110 for the password. There are currently over 26,000 eBooks and eAudioBooks available from NetLibrary.
We will also be adding a new service later this year which will provide more eAudioBooks, so stay tuned! — Jill
Can you post a how-to on downloading audio books? I know they are somewhere on NC Live, but after much fruitless clicking, I still can’t find them.
Thanks!
